The 5th edition of FITUR WOMAN underscored today that the future of tourism relies on female leadership. This dedicated space, aimed at highlighting the role of women in the tourism industry, took place within the framework of the International Tourism Trade Fair, held from January 22 to 26 and organized by IFEMA MADRID. According to participating experts, women make up 54% of the tourism sector, yet only a few hold leadership positions.

FITUR LGTB+ has launched a new edition as a key space for dialogue and collaboration on diversity in tourism. Under the theme “Diversity in Every Destination”, the section, organized by FITUR in partnership with JN Global Project, will showcase inclusive national and international destinations during its professional sessions, as well as announcements of innovative events to promote inclusive tourism.

FITUR, the International Tourism Trade Fair organized by IFEMA MADRID, celebrated the opening of its 45th edition with the presence of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain. They were welcomed by José Vicente de los Mozos, President of the Executive Committee of IFEMA MADRID, along with a significant delegation of ministers, government representatives, and tourism industry leaders from around the world.

The Peninsula, which has for decades embraced a continuous commitment to ground-breaking art in its properties around the world, announced a new chapter in that longstanding kinship. Beginning in 2025, the legendary hotel brand will launch a series of contemporary art installations curated in partnership with London’s illustrious Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), debuting with an exhibit at The Peninsula Hong Kong, to launch in time for Art Basel Hong Kong 2025.
