Hotel Review: Trastevere Roma | UNA Esperienze, Rome, Italy

When you’re planning a stay in Rome and want to feel both immersed in the local rhythm and treated with upscale comfort, the stylish 4* hotel, Trastevere Roma | UNA Esperienze is a compelling choice. Situated in the lively and historic district of Trastevere, the hotel offers a modern and stylish base from which to explore the Eternal City.

Trastevere Roma | UNA Esperienze

Housed within a palazzo with seven floors, it was built at the end of the 19th century as a residential complex for the upper-middle classes.  Choose between rooms and suites with street views or those overlooking the peaceful inner courtyard. The panoramic rooftop on the seventh floor, home to the Vista Trastevere Roof Bar & Restaurant, looks over Trastevere and the heart of Rome. Admire the breath-taking glimpse of the capital’s bell towers and hills, stretching all the way to the horizon

Trastevere itself is one of Rome’s most charming quarters: cobbled lanes, ivy-covered façades, a warm local feel, cafés, trattorias, artisan shops and a nightlife that doesn’t feel too frenetic. Staying here gives the advantage of being slightly off the major tourist arteries, but still within walking distance of landmarks such as the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the Palatine Hill and the Forum.

The hotel is pioneering an innovative new concept: “Rome by Romans -Trastevere” based on the idea that Rome should not only be visited, but discovered and fully experienced. This is not mere entertainment, it’s a celebration of identity and the senses. A variety of experiences, designed by locals, are on-offer for hotel guests.

Who for

Businessmen,  families, couples seeking a romantic escape, and anyone who wants to experience true Roman hospitality.

Accommodation

Trastevere Roma | UNA Esperienze has 94 rooms including 6 Junior Suites and 12 Suites, furnished in a style to evoke the character of a beautiful home in Trastevere.  Pale walls, parquet or patterned flooring and a careful mix of modern fixtures with classic silhouettes add style. The décor is timeless, and the books, paintings and ornaments all feel completely natural.

We stayed in a Superior Room on the 5th floor, bright and airy, with a view over Trastevere.  Double glazing and a huge comfortable bed guaranteed an excellent night’s sleep.  A chair and stool added a touch of colour to the white and grey décor, complemented by an abstract picture on the wall.

The menu combines local specialties with internationally inspired dishes, all crafted with carefully selected ingredients and expertly prepared by the Chef.

On the ground floor is the BeVere Bar where the generous breakfast buffet is served year-round, with specialties inspired by Italian, American, and Eastern traditions. During summer, guests may also enjoy lunch in this space with hot and cold drinks served throughout the day.
