Nikon Nails It! New Colors for Zf & Future Feature
Nikon Zf retro-styled full-frame mirrorless cameras will soon be available in a silver-colored bodies and colorful new skins. Plus, a future firmware update will allow Zf users to add film grain effect to photos and videos.
The big news is the silver-colored finish that will soon be available as an alternative to the Nikon Zf’s handsome, classic black. Combined with the new and preexisting skin colors, Nikon users enjoy the broadest range of cosmetic options to express their individual aesthetic preferences.
Three new “Premium Exteriors” color options have been added: Cognac Brown, Teal Blue, and Mauve Pink. In addition to the new colors, Moss Green, Stone Gray and Sepia Brown have already been available.
The Already Colorful Nikon Z fc
Exciting color options are nothing new for Nikon. The Nikon Z fc has been available with a black or silver body in a raft of exterior colors, including the unique, limited edition Nikon Z fc Heralbony collection.
Upcoming Film Grain Feature
Nikon promises a planned firmware update for the Nikon Zf to enable a new Film Grain feature. Adding simulated grain to a photo or video makes it more closely resemble images captured on film and expands creative expression. There will be three levels of grain size and six levels of grain strength. This update is scheduled for release within 2025.
The Film Grain feature strikes us as the perfect addition to the Nikon Zf which already offers externally-accessible monochrome options.
Price & Availability
The new Nikon Zf Silver Edition will be available in late September at the suggested retail price of $2199.95 with standard skins, and $2299.95 for the new Premium Exterior options. Prices are for USA purchases and subject to change due to unforeseen fluctuations in international economics.
