The Aldi Christmas advert 2021 is here! After some Kevin the Carrot fans feared he wouldn’t be returning this year, the animated vegetable is back and bringing all the festive cheer.
This time, though, he has a new nemesis, named Ebanana Scrooge. The Dickensian-inspired ad has left us feeling very festive. Is it too early to put our Christmas decorating ideas into action?
The Yuletide advert tells the story of how Kevin the Carrot takes Christmas-hating Ebanana Scrooge on a magical journey to show him the joy of Christmas. Having been left on the plate by Santa, who picked up a mince pie instead, Ebanana Scrooge had never liked Christmas.
England striker Marcus Rashford makes a star appearance as the voice of vegetable character Marcus ‘Radishford’. The moral of the story is ‘for you to be happy, you need to be kind,’ the closing scene showing Ebanana Scrooge deliver a Christmas pudding to Kevin’s family.
The campaign will provide 1.8 million meals to families in need over the festive period. ‘As a family, we relied on the local food bank to get our Christmas dinner,’ says Marcus Rashford.

‘To this day, I remember queuing outside that building with mum; mum feeling embarrassed that she might be recognised. It is with that in mind that I’m delighted to lend my support to the Aldi campaign,’ Marcus adds.
‘For many children in situations like mine growing up, there is very little expectation around this time of year; add the impact of the pandemic and the very least they deserve is a Christmas dinner.’
The Aldi Christmas advert will premiere on TV tonight on ITV, during the centre break of Emmerdale. As well as Marcus Radishford, the Aldi Christmas advert 2021 introduces us to Tiny Tom, Peas and Goodwill and Kevin’s cute Dickensian family.

We think the ad is going to go down well with Aldi lovers with its simple story and atmospheric setting. We also recently shared the release of the John Lewis Christmas advert – which features an alien experiencing Christmas for the very first time.
That’s it, Christmas has officially landed. We’re cracking out the Quality Streets and Christmas decorations.

Splurging on a new Christmas wreath for 2021? Why not! Whether it’s taking pride of place on your front door, it’s going above a fireplace or even on a staircase, Christmas wreaths are often one of the first decorations to go up. Why? This understated decoration can make a big impression with minimal effort – to both you and to your neighbours.
The best artificial Christmas trees – 2021’s top realistic buys
Choose from real wreaths that are usually fragranced for an added effect, or artificial options that you can reuse for more Christmases to come. We’ve listed both in our list, although in terms of practicality, we say to go for an artificial option. Better yet, one that’s pre-lit because if you want yours to light up come dark, then this will prove to be handy. Other than that, the choice is yours.
Get your Christmas wreath right and the rest of your festive scheme will follow with ease. Here are 9 glorious buys for 2021 – shop for yours now and kick-start your Christmas decorating before everyone else.

This stunning wreath comes with a set of 50 warm lights to illuminate your door come dark, and it’s decorated with realistic mistletoe. Other than that it’s quite nice and plain so as not to distract eyes from the rest of your Christmas decor, and it’s a sizeable 50cm. Set the lights on a timer to switch on at the same time every day, to make your life easier. For those who want a realistic wreath that they can use year after year, this is your best bet.

Searching for a real Christmas wreath for 2021? You can always rely on Bloom & Wild. Our favourite for this year is their The Nightmare Before Christmas Wreath. Its main look might be of dusky foliage, but rest assured that’s balanced eloquently with colourful blooms such as yellow and orange kangaroo paw, blue eryngium and also berries. To wow passersby and impress your neighbours, this is the wreath that you want to buy. Order now for delivery from the 1st of December.

Because we all love a bit of pampas grass, right? So why not incorporate it into your Christmas decor? This Scandi-style Christmas wreath from Habitat gives off a softly festive vibe, and it would look just as lovely on a front door as it would an interior door – or hung above a fireplace. It’s made using a combination of artificial eucalyptus, green foliage and obviously pampas. To say that it’s bursting with greenery would be a little bit of an understatement.

Shaped like a heart and decorated with red berries, this simple wreath has a rattan base – and it benefits from the unique addition of green leaves dotted around its frame. Of course, you can use it to decorate your front door, but we do think it will look lovely inside, too, and it will prove to be striking thanks to its pop of red. It comes with a jute hanging rope for easy positioning.
Dimensions: H40cm x W40cm x D7cm

A wreath with a difference, this one will need to be put together by you, although this should make it even more special when you hang it inside your home every year. Yes, it’s for indoor use only since it’s made of yarn, but one thing’s for sure: it’s certainly unique. Brown, cream, red and green yarn make up this wreath that resembles a Christmas pudding, and we think it will look delightful on an interior door, hung inside a bedroom or above a fireplace.
Diameter: 36cm

Simple yet striking, this wreath is even handmade. It’s decorated with pine cones, cinnamon and dried orange peels, plus it’s even scented. Use the ribbon to hang it indoors – we say to place it inside a hallway or kitchen – and wait for your guests to marvel at it.
Diameter: 27cm
Buy now: Jormaepourri Scented Pine Cone Ring, £20, John Lewis & Partners
This stunningly realistic wreath is inspired by the memory of the first dusting of snow, transforming the surrounding landscape into stunning scenery. Decorations from this new range capture the serenity of a snowy landscape. This design is a vision in snowy white, mostly thanks to a generous dusting of mistletoe berries. Those are elegantly interspersed with rustic pine cones and fir spruce.
Diameter: 50cm diameter
Buy now: Snowscape Pine Cone and Mistletoe Wreath, £40, John Lewis & Partners

Keep things fun and fresh with a playful bauble wreath! This red, silver and white design by Habitat is jazzed up with a mix of matt, shiny and glitter baubles. It’s so on-trend and anything but dull. Just be sure to display it indoors rather than out.
Diameter: 40cm diameter

Black Friday air fryer deals have well and truly arrived. We’ve found plenty of early Black Friday air fryer sales on top brands like Amazon, Ninja, Breville, Tefal and Cosori to get your sale season off to a strong start. Air fryers are immensely popular, with recent research showing that air fryer sales have increased by 400% in just the past year. We can see why, too, because the best air fryers we’ve tried have truly transformed the way we cook. Not only do they cut back on the amount of fat needed to achieve that perfectly crisp chicken fillet or homemade chips, but they also take a fraction of the time your oven takes to pre-heat.
See the top Black Friday deals with our home hub
We’re already seeing savings on Ninja and Philips air fryers, as well as a few more alternative fryers from Tower and Breville. These air fryers come with rotisserie attachments, which are perfect for cooking homemade kebabs or roast chickens.
Many of the top brands on the market regularly offer discounts on their air fryers, but as it’s the shopping event of the year, Black Friday air fryer deals are usually the ones to hold out for. Last year we saw discounts of up to 50% on brands such as Philips and Ninja, and we also saw a lot of Amazon lightning deals on air fryer brands such as Cosori and Instant.
Last year we saw many of the best air fryer deals at Amazon.co.uk, where lightning deals on top brands were selling out in record time. There are also bound to be some great savings at Very, Robert Dyas, Littlewoods, AO.com, and Currys.
Tower T17039 Vortx 5-in-1 Digital Air Fryer Oven: was £119.99, now £98 at Amazon
The Tower Vortx is one of our favourites, with an in-built rotisserie to make delicious roast chicken and multiple shelves for cooking every element of a dish in one go. It’s now 25% off at Amazon.
NINJA Foodi Dual Zone 7.6L Air Fryer AF300UK: was £199, now £179 at Very
Those who are serious about air frying will love this dual-zone cooker from Ninja. It has two drawers which can be synchronised to cook in the same mode, or on different modes but with a simultaneous finish.
Breville Halo Rotisserie Air Fryer: was £160, now £130 at Amazon
We tried the Breville Halo and loved the rotisserie function for making delicious roast chicken. It’s very smart, with an inner light to watch your food while it cooks, and seven cooking modes.
COSORI Air Fryer: was £79.99, now £67.99 at Amazon
Cosori reliably makes some of the top air fryers for great setting and speedy, even cooking. This budget-friendly model is an excellent introductory fryer thanks to its more compact dimensions yet generous 3.5 litre capacity.
Philips Essential Air Fryer Extra Large: was £230, now £189 at Amazon (save £41)
Philips makes some of the most reliable air fryers on the market, and this extra large option is perfect for families. It has a 1.2kg capacity and modes to fry, grill, roast and even bake.
Tefal ActiFry Genius XL 2in1: was £299, now £269 at Amazon
Tefal’s ActiFry air fryer is one of the smartest on the market. It has an unique stirring paddle to keep chips moving while they cook for an even hands-free result, and an upper layer for multi-cooking different elements of your meal.
Ninja makes some of the best air fryers on the market, and we’re particularly big fans of the Dual Zone, which has two independent drawers to cook meat and veg, or starter and main, simultaneously. Ninja also can be found on regular promotions, so we’re expecting some amazing Black Friday Ninja air fryer deals.
Our handy price widgets will pull in the lowest price air fryers from Ninja, so all you need to do is pick the model that’s right for you.
Tefal’s alternative take on air frying features an unique and innovative paddle that stirs food as it cooks. Use it for stir-fry, curries, or keeping chips crispy. In our Tefal YV970840 Actifry Genius XL 2in1 review we were particularly impressed by the chips it made, and how easy it was to use both layers for different kinds of cooking.
The Tower Vortex 5-in-1 Digital Air Fryer is one of our favourites for making roast dinners, because it comes with a rotisserie insert to cook chicken to perfection. It has removable drawers that are easy to clean, and allow you to cook multiple elements of a meal in one go. We found it functioned best as a mini oven, with the ability to air fry, convection cook, and roast.
While not every air fryer will have a great saving come the big event, last year we saw savings of around 50% on some of our favourite models. Ninja offered at least £20 off most of its air fryers, and for more premium picks such as the Foodi Multi Cooker, we saw savings of £50 for air frying, slow cooking, roasting, and a lot more.
Some of the best Black Friday air fryer deals can typically be found on air fryers that have been in the market for a year or two, so while we’re not sure if Cosori’s latest Premium air fryer will be hitting everyone’s baskets, it’s likely that we’ll see extra low prices on the classic Cosori CP358-AF, which is still a great option.
Last year we saw a lot of retailers dropping their prices well in advance of Black Friday itself. This year, Black Friday will take place on the 26th of November, but if last year is anything to go by, we’re expecting retailers like Amazon to lead the way with a few lightning deals a good week in advance. Is it worth waiting to make your purchase? Last year one of the best Black Friday air fryer deals, a £70 saving on the Ninja Foodi Max, was sold out before Black Friday had even started, so if you see a deal that looks unbeatable, it’s worth snapping it up fast!
We’re keeping this page updated ith all the deals as and when they drop, so if in doubt, check in here to find out whether we think a deal is worth the investment.

If you’re new to air frying and want something budget-friendly to get you started, we recommend the Instant Vortex Mini air fryer. While it’s small it’s also affordable, and it comes in a range of fun colours. This air fryer really shows what the hype is all about, but if you go for a cheaper brand that comes in at around £20, you may not get to experience all the added cooking functions and sensitive temperature controls that make us love air frying in the first place.
Premium air fryers can cost as much as £300, so Black Friday is a great excuse to upgrade to something that’s capable of keeping up with busy family life if you see a breakout deal. After all, many air fryer owners are such big fans that one air fryer is not enough! One solution to this is the Ninja Foodi Dual Zone, which is Ninja’s two-drawer air fryer that retails for an RRP of £199.99. While we don’t know if it will go on sale this Black Friday, it dropped to a record low price on this year’s Prime Day, so we’d be surprised if it didn’t go on a further sellout promotion.
There are two main types of air fryer, a basket air fryer, or an oven air fryer. In America, people also use toaster ovens, but those are less common in the UK market.
Basket air fryers
Most of the top air fryers we’ve tried were basket air fryers. This means there is a central heating element with a basket that can simply be inserted into place. You can use the handle on the basket to pull out your chips or veggies and give them a shake midway through your cooking cycle, which is very helpful for keeping your hands safe when cooking.
Basket air fryers sometimes come with a removable insert that separates food from any liquid or fat that drips away during cooking. This insert can usually be lifted out to allow you to cook in the flat base of the air fryer, particularly in Ninja and Instant air fryers, but other models like Swan and Cosori will depend on the model. The removable insert has its pros and cons, because while it can make your air fryer more multi-functional, it will also make it harder to pour out your food without also pouring out the liquid that’s gathered at the bottom of the fryer.
Oven air fryers
We’ve reviewed a few oven air fryers from Tower and Breville, and they are more of a cross between a regular oven and a drawer air fryer. The drawer air fryer will only have one cooking compartment, but an oven air fryer can distribute numerous shelves through the inside of the cooker. This is useful for cooking different elements of a meal in one go, and can also make cleaning easier. Convection ovens circulate hot air in the same way an air fryer does, so in many ways, an oven air fryer is more of a mini convection oven.
